Menopause and Memory Loss
Memory Loss and Menopause seem to be more and more common. With women in the early stages of menopause getting migraines which effect them in every part of life.
For some time doctors have atributed Memory Loss to the lower levels of Estrogen in the body when women go through menopause. It is known that Estrogen is a stimulator of brain activity, so when it lowers during this period it adversely effects mental acuity and memory loss.
Many women have turned to HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) to combat symptoms like Memory Loss. The proble is that Menopause and Weight Gain can now be linked.
Studies have been done all over the world to prove the tie between Memory loss and Menopause. The top things I have found in my research are
- Keeping the Mind active with Mind Games
- Take Ginkgo which is a herb that helps red blood cells around the brain
- Lower alcohol intake
- Blue Berries are a great for memory loss
These are all great ways to keep an active mind. I can not say I experienced this through Menopause but I know it is out there and have had friends with similar problems. So remember to stay active and don’t let Menopause and Memory Loss take over your life! Fight the Power!
